Navajo Code Talkers – Speaker,
Dr. Laura Tohe
from the Arizona Humanities Council.
Dr. Laura Tohe, Associate professor of English at ASU and author of several
published books, will be the speaker at the Historical Society’s March 18th
meeting. She grew up on a Navajo Indian reservation and attended both
public and government run Indian boarding schools. Her grandmother was
one of the first teachers on the reservation, and her father was a Code
Talker in World War II. Dr. Tohe has been a speaker here at the Museum
before and is a great story teller. This program comes to us through
the State Humanities Council of Arizona. The program starts at 7:00
pm. Visitors are welcome. Admission free.
